Introduction to Salvation Plan

Biblical Steps to Salvation

God's wonderful plan of salvation through Jesus (Yeshua, meaning God saves) is revealed in the Holy Bible. This plan is so simple that even a child can repent and believe in Jesus, yet it is also so profound that no other way is sufficient enough to obtain salvation from sin, death, and the wrath of God.

Once a person hears the message of salvation, there are nine (9) key steps in developing a relationship with Jesus Christ. Steps 1 to 3 are necessary for a person to respond to the Savior and become "born again." Steps 4 to 9 are necessary for spiritual growth and maturity in Christ.

Steps

StepObjective
1Admit that you are a sinner in need
of God's saving grace.
"For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not."

-- Ecclesiastes 7:20

"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away."

-- Isaiah 64:6

"All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

-- Romans 3:23-24

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

-- Romans 6:23

"But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God."

-- Ephesians 2:4-5,8

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men."

-- Titus 2:11

StepObjective
2By faith, believe that Jesus is the
Son of God, lived a sinless life, shed
His blood on the cross for your sins,
and rose from the dead.
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."

-- Leviticus 17:11

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

-- John 3:16

"Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, 'Dost thou believe on the Son of God?' He answered and said, 'Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?' And Jesus said unto him, 'Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.' And he said, 'Lord, I believe.' And he worshipped him."

-- John 9:35-38

"Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?"

-- John 10:36

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."

-- Acts 4:12

"And they said, 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house'."

-- Romans 10:9-10

"And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin."

-- Romans 14:23

"And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins."

-- I Corinthians 15:17

"For he [God] hath made him [Jesus] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

-- I John 4:2

StepObjective
3Confess your sins to God, repent
and be willing to turn away from your sins, and pray to receive the free gift of righteousness (indwelling of the Holy Spirit) unto eternal life through Jesus Christ. By faith, you are forgiven of sins, justified in the sight of God, and are conceived again. You are to walk in newness
of life as a new creation in Christ.

Then said Paul, 'John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.' Salvation Plan Description

Summary

The Word of God is likened unto seed which a farmer scatters on the ground. The Parable of the Sower mentioned in Luke 8:5-15 depicts four types of soil where seed was scattered. The seed that fell on good (fertile) ground took root and brought forth a fruitful harvest.

We pray that God's plan of salvation as presented to you from the Bible will take deep root in your heart. If you have come to realize your desperate need for a Savior and hear God calling you to respond to Him, then please don't delay! Receive God's free gift of salvation today with child-like faith and genuine repentance. He will forgive your sins, reconcile you to Himself through the finished work of Jesus Christ, and make you a new creation. Come to Him just as you are. Even the worst sinners can be cleansed and made righteous in the blood of Jesus if they repent and believe.

The 9 biblical steps necessary for cultivating a personal relationship with Jesus Christ are summarized below:

#1Admit You are a Sinner

Agree with God that you are a sinner in need of His salvation and that you cannot save yourself from the wages of sin.

[Back to Bible verses]

#2Believe on Jesus

By faith, believe the message of the Gospel with all your heart: Jesus (Yeshua) died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again. He was the perfect, sinless Lamb of God, sacrificed in your place.

[Back to Bible verses]

#3Confess Sin and Repent

Confess your sins to God and come to Him as a little child. Repent (turn from your former way of life) and receive the free gift of righteousness (indwelling of the Holy Spirit). By faith, you are forgiven of sins, justified in the sight of God, and are
born again (conceived again) as God's child. You are to walk in newness of life as a new creation in Christ.

[Back to Bible verses]

#4Get Water Baptized

Get water baptized in Jesus' name as an obedient outward demonstration of your repentance and faith. In water baptism, you illustrate that your old man is dead to sin and your new man is alive to God by faith in Jesus Christ.

[Back to Bible verses]

#5Receive Baptism in Holy Spirit

Receive the baptism in the Holy Ghost. Ask your Heavenly Father to fill you with His Spirit to give you boldness in your witness, power to overcome sin and temptation, sweet fellowship with Him, divine comfort, and a fuller manifestation
of spiritual gifts.

[Back to Bible verses]

#6Grow in Christ

Read your Bible (preferably the King James Version) every day to feed your spirit man. Start with the New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. As you study to show yourself approved unto God (II Timothy 2:15), the Holy Spirit will begin to renew your mind (Romans 12:2), bring the Scriptures to your remembrance (John 14:26), and guide you into all truth (John 16:13).

As you grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus, you will need to turn off the "voices" of the world such as television, certain music, and ungodly friends. Trust the Lord Jesus to fill these voids in your life; for truly His yoke is easy, and His burden is light (Matthew 11:29-30).

Jesus says that if you hunger and thirst for righteousness, you shall be filled (Matthew 5:6). When you feast on His daily bread, your spirit man will become healthy, strong, and mature. Jesus' meat was to do the will of God that sent Him and to finish God's work (John 4:34); for the the Kingdom of God is not meat and drink but rather righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17). God's Word is truth (John 17:17), and His truth will set you free (John 8:32). So take up the Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God), stand fast in His liberty, and don't fall back under the yoke and bondage of sin (Galatians 5:1).

[Back to Bible verses]

#7Pray and Fellowship

Talk with the Lord in prayer often, ask God for wisdom when you lack (James 1:5), and cast all your care and anxiety on Jesus; for He cares for you (I Peter 5:7). Praise and worship Jesus not just with your speech but with your whole heart (Matthew 15:8). Fellowship with like-minded believers who are serious about their faith in Jesus and have a close walk with Him.

Be aware that not every Bible-believing church teaches the pure Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Many congregations quench the Spirit by using "proven" business methods and seeker-friendly programs to "build their church," emphasizing membership over discipleship rather than quality over quantity. They preach a worldly, watered-down "gospel" promoting a cheap salvation which is persecution-free and paved with prosperity (see II Corinthians 11:4 and Galatians 1:6). Ask the Lord to direct you to a loving Christian fellowship where the Bible is not compromised and where believers live in obedience to God's precious Word.

[Back to Bible verses]

#8Do Good Works

As the Lord leads your heart, cheerfully give of your resources (time, treasure, and talent) to help the poor, widows, and orphans. In the spirit of meekness, serve others (especially those in your own household) without expecting anything in return. Good works are actions which are initiated by the leading of the Holy Spirit (not by your own strength and intuition).

[Back to Bible verses]

#9Obey and Endure

Keep the commands of Jesus (Yeshua), be obedient to His voice, and guard your relationship with Him like a priceless treasure. Be faithful to Him through all trials, tribulations, and persecutions even if others are backsliding and falling away. His strength will be available to you at all times, so don't give up your faith in Jesus. Remember, when Jesus is all you have, you will realize that Jesus is all you need. Patiently run the race with all diligence. Endure and be obedient unto death so you can receive the high prize — the crown of life — which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
